USOS

The University Student Support System is the result of cooperation between Poland's largest universities. The system was created as a result of the demand for a comprehensive IT tool for managing study affairs at a university. Among the main applications of USOS are:

  • University enrollment and matriculation,
  • Electronic Student ID Cards (printing, renewal, etc.),
  • Preparation of teaching offerings (subjects, classes, groups, dates, instructor),
  • Managing the course of study (study programs of all degrees and types, enrollment in classes, records of grades, credits, etc.),
  • student applications,
  • theses and diploma exams, electronic archiving of diploma theses,
  • scholarships,
  • dormitories,
  • payments for educational services,
  • support for the Bologna Process,
  • student internships,
  • surveys,
  • reporting,
  • personnel matters (full-time and part-time employment, salary settlement, etc.),
  • Career Office,
  • university archives.

Thanks to the extensiveness of its applications, USOS acts as a central collection point for information from the entire university, which significantly improves the management of studies, enables the unification of university procedures, and allows for the effective introduction of university-wide initiatives, such as a common offer for students of all majors of optional subjects, lectures, physical education classes, certification exams, as well as the central authorization of students and employees in the university's web services, and the generation of index and diploma numbers unique at the university.
Storing data in digital form significantly reduces the number of traditional documents generated, allowing, among other things, the elimination of paper grade reports, exam papers, student applications and even indexes.

USOS is not only a centralized database operated by university administration staff. Associated with the system are a number of online services for university applicants, students and academics. They support many aspects of the university's operations remotely, which involves a significant reduction in the burden on administrative staff.
These services enable, among other things:

    • registration of candidates for studies,
    • viewing of teaching offerings and class schedules,
    • registration for classes,
    • grading,
    • communication of students and instructors within class groups,
    • submission of applications,
    • reservation of classrooms,
    • collecting electronic versions of theses,
    • sharing resumes and viewing job offers.
Along with the University Student Support System, a number of web services dedicated to the university community at large are being developed, making the use of the resources of the centralized information system possible not only for administrative staff.

USOSweb - the online equivalent of USOS for students and academics to remotely handle matters related to the course of study.

APD /Thesis Archive/ - the service serves as a catalog and repository of electronic versions of thesis, engineering, master's and doctoral theses produced at the university.

UL /University Lectures/ - service to register for classes available to students of all faculties.

SRS /Room Booking System/ - A service for booking rooms on a university-wide basis. It allows efficient management of the use of all teaching rooms at a given university, as well as the costs associated with their rental.

      FAQ

Does mCitizen replace an ID card?

The mCitizen is not an ID card. An mCitizen is a document that contains data from an ID card - more specifically, from the ID Card Register and the PESEL Register.

      • You will use mCitizen on trains, during inspections, during elections, when setting up loyalty cards, picking up “registered” at the post office, at the gym, in the store, at the reception desk, at the clinic, at the hotel, when using other services.
      • You will not use mCitizen in situations where the law requires you to show your ID or passport (e.g. at the bank, airport, notary, registering a SIM card, when dealing with some official matters).
      • You MUST NOT use mCitizen if your ID card is invalid - for example, it has been restricted due to theft or loss.

Does a police officer have to recognize documents from the application?

Officers - in accordance with the established rules - first ask for the source document, i.e. identity card / passport / driver's license, etc. On its basis, they make verification in their systems. If you don't have a traditional document with you, you can present a mCitizen document or another document available in the application - such as mDriving License - (depending on the type of control). The policeman will confirm the data in his system based on it.

During the check you can also show your mLegitimation.

What should you know about the COVID-19 vaccination confirmation service?

Information about your vaccination is added to your eVaccination Card, a service run by the eHealth Center (Ministry of Health).

You can confirm your vaccination status by using the QR code you show in the mCitizen app or in the form of a printout you receive at the clinic or downloaded from the Internet Patient Account (patient.gov.pl).

      • Remember that the QR code with confirmation is issued after receiving the full dose of vaccination.
      • The code is available after the information is entered into the P1 system by the staff of the clinic, where you were vaccinated.
      • Before adding the code to the mCitizen app , make sure that your vaccination information has been entered into the Internet Patient Account.
      • If you have concerns or specific questions, call 19 457 or email ikp-pomoc@cez.gov.pl

Is the mCitizen app free of charge?

Yes. The app is free and can be used by anyone of legal age who has: a valid ID card, a Trusted Profile, a smartphone with Android operating system version 6.0 (or later) or iOS 12 (or higher) equipped with Bluetooth and a camera, an internet connection.

      Is my data safe?

For security reasons, the data stored on your phone is encrypted and signed with a certificate issued by the Ministry of Digitization. The certificate also confirms the authenticity of the data. We get it when activating the application - it is assigned to the user and his phone. Access to the data is protected by a password, which we choose when activating the application.
