A team of researchers from the Faculty of Agriculture and Economics has received funding for the Horizon project.
Jakub Piecuch, Ph.D., Prof. UAK, along with a team including Anna Kozielec, Ph.D., Alina Klonowska, Ph.D., and Małgorzata Pink, Ph.D., will implement, in an international partnership, the 4-year project HORIZON-CL6-2024-FARM2FORK-01-11: STREAMING-Sustainable Trade Regimes with Europe and Africa through Mapping Innovation, New-technology and Growth-mindset. Project budget of 4.5 million euros.
The STREAMING project aims to develop strategies for creating equitable, ecological and environmentally sustainable food systems across the continent. By fostering links between basic research and practice, the STREAMING project seeks to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among various target groups, including women, scientists, students and farmers.
Through networking platforms, innovation centers, startup searches and training programs, the project aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry and promote the implementation of sustainable practices and technologies in African food trade systems. In addition, with a focus on analyzing policies and proposing strategies, STREAMING aims to inform trade policy in Africa and Europe, with an emphasis on removing non-tariff barriers to trade and increasing resilience to external challenges such as climate change. By integrating stakeholder needs, empirical research and innovative solutions, STREAMING will contribute to the establishment of equitable, environmentally sound and sustainable food systems in Africa and improve cooperation between the European Union and the African Union in this area.
